BJP deliberately keeping us out of MC house: AAP

Chandigarh: The municipal councillors of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday alleged that they were deliberately removed from the monthly general house meeting on Tuesday to get the paid parking agenda passed. They said that making parking free for two-wheelers was a political stunt for the upcoming parliamentary polls to be held in 2024.
He said if two wheelers and EVs could be given free access to parking lots, why not four wheelers.
Terming the BJP “a corrupt party”, AAP councillor and opposition leader Damapreet Singh said that none of their leaders had used the word “chor” for any party’s councillors and it was the mayor’s planned strategy to keep them away from the house meeting to get the paid parking agenda approved.
“We are against paid parking in the city and were prepared to discuss this agenda. There are already a huge number of taxes, thus imposing more financial burden on the public is wrong. Charging vehicles from other cities double rate of parking is also wrong as India is one country and brotherhood should be maintained,” Damanpreet Singh, AAP councillor said.
