We had arranged crackers and gulal, especially for supporters, as we were sure that Kuldeep will win the election and supporters will play Holi and burst crackers as they do on Diwali," said Bansi Lal, a member of Kuldeep's team.
Bishnoi won the Hisar Lok Sabha byelection by a margin of 6,323 votes. With Indian National Lok Dal candidate, Ajay Singh Chautala, giving a tough fight to Bishnoi, the situation got cleared only in the last round after which, Bishnoi was declared elected.
Celebrating his victory, about 10,000 supporters of Bishnoi gathered near the mini secretariat premises with dhol and nagara playing without a pause and slogans like "Kuldeep humara hai. Jee jaan se bhe pyara hai, Dikha diya hai Kuldeep main hai dum ab sabse aagey rahenge hum," renting the air.
Interestingly, supporters of Bishnoi arranged a tractor which led his cavalcade to his Hisar residence, fully painted in yellow, the colour of Haryana Janhit Congress.
Sources said Bishnoi supporters had bought about two sackfuls of 50 kg yellow-color gulal to play Holi with Kuldeep. A special dhol and nagara team was called in, which played the dhol non-stop for almost seven hours, turning the mood of supporters on. Dancing with joy, supporters could be seen embracing each other, even on roads, in Hisar and Adampur Mandi.

Talking to The Times of India, Bishnoi said, "My supporters worked round the clock to canvass votes for HJC-BJP alliance. I will soon arrange a grand party for them. They came to me and put colors on me. I like the Holi festival and I feel the same joy today. I remember when I was young, I will start Holi after putting colors on my father's feet. Today I am missing him. I have won as my father must have been blessing me from the heaven."
A supporter, Ramesh Bishnoi, from Adampur Mandi, said, "I have never seen so much happiness on the faces of people in Adampur. I have never seen people busrting crackers like this today. This is the first time in my life when I am witnessing Holi and Diwali together in Adampur and Hisar."
