Khap leaders passed several resolutions in a meeting held at Danoda village on Sunday where social justice and empowerment minister Krishan Bedi was also present.

Raghubir Nain made it clear that currently, the society is facing issues that threaten the social fabric, and efforts are ongoing to control them. Love marriages are increasing these days. He clarified that Khap is not against love marriages but is in favor of making amendments. He stated that love marriages should involve the consent of the parents and that such marriages should not happen within the same village, gotra, or neighbourhood.

Additionally, the Khap humbly requested the honorable judiciary to impose a complete ban on social evils like live-in relationships and homosexuality, he said.

He further mentioned that considering the environment, there should be more focus on tree plantation to keep the environment clean. He emphasized that the Khap would continue to work against social evils in Panchayat meetings and other social events.

However, various Khap officials also proposed the idea of regulating the time for DJ music and imposing restrictions on large feasts.
