ROHTAK: A few days after Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH) declared its Class XII results, girls outshined boys once again in Class X exam as well. In the result announced by the board on Friday, overall, 73.18% of the students have passed the exam, which is nearly 10% higher than the previous year.

In the Class XII results declared on June 15, girls had secured 90.51% pass percentage while boys got 83.96%.

BSEH chairman Jagbir Singh added that this year’s pass percentage for Class X has been the highest in the last seven years.

In 2020 the pass percentage for Class X was 64.59%, while in in 2019 it was 57.39%. Talking to the media, the chairman said that the result would be available on the board website from 5pm onwards on Friday.

He added that 3.26 lakh had students appeared in the exam, of which 2.38 lakh passed the exam while 19,679 got compartment.

Private schools shine

Amisha of Bhiwani topped the state by scoring 499 marks out of 500. Sunena of Charkhi Dadri, Khushi of Ucchan Mandi, Jind, and Manju of Kaithal district jointly secured the second position by scoring 497 marks.

Suhani of Sonipat, Reena and Lovekush, Himanshi of Hisar district and Himani of Bhiwani district got the joint third position in the state by scoring 496 marks. The board chairman said that private schools fared much better by scoring 88.21% compared to government school students who got 63.54%.

In urban versus rural, rural students obtained 74.06% while urban schools got 71.35%.
