KURUKSHETRA: Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) Charuni has written a letter to Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar and demanded early procurement of sunflower.
BKU wrote that the sunflower crop has ripened and started to arrive in the grain market but so far, the Haryana government has not announced any date for the procurement.
“As compared to last year, there is an expectation of growth in sunflower production. Therefore, it is requested that in view of more production of sunflower the procurement should be started at the earliest. The number of procurement centres should be increased so that the farmers can sell their produce with ease”, demanded BKU Charuni from Haryana CM.
