Bhajan Lal remark: 42 file complaint against Rekha Sharma in Adampur
Hisar: A political row has intensified over BJP Rajya Sabha MP Rekha Sharma's alleged remarks against late former Haryana chief minister Bhajan Lal, with around 42 people filing a complaint at Adampur police station on Thursday, seeking registration of an FIR against her. The complainants alleged that the remarks have tarnished the image of Bhajan Lal and hurt the sentiments of people in the region. A written complaint has been submitted to the police, urging immediate legal action. According to the complaint, Sharma allegedly made derogatory comments against Bhajan Lal and his family during an event held in Panchkula on April 24. The complainants stated that the remarks have deeply offended supporters and residents of the area. They further said that Bhajan Lal was a senior public leader and such statements against him are not only personally offensive, but also socially unacceptable. The group has demanded prompt police action, including registration of an FIR. Meanwhile, a Fatehabad-based supporter, Suresh Bishnoi, has served a legal notice on the MP, seeking a response to the alleged remarks and warning of legal proceedings if a satisfactory reply is not provided within the stipulated time. The protests are expected to widen, with Bhajan Lal's supporters announcing plans to file similar complaints in all districts of Haryana as well as in Rajasthan, Punjab and other states on Friday.
