Bathinda attack: Cops refute SFJ, KTF claims

Bathinda: Even as banned organisations Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF) and Sikhs for Justice have taken responsibility for killing four soldiers inside the local military station, the district police have dismissed these as divertive claims and denied having received the analysis report of fingerprints found on the recovered Insas rifle.Four days since the incident, the Army and the district police continue their investigation without making any arrest and the military station remains highly barricaded. Additional director general of police Surinderpal Singh Parmar said: “The investigations, so far, suggest it to be an internal issue (of the Army). The stolen weapon (5.56 Insas rifle) used in the offence has been recovered with spent cartridges, so the claims by the KTF and the SFJ are hollow and more to hog the media limelight.”Four soldiers were killed inside the Bathinda military station in the wee hours of April 12. The first-information report (FIR) suggests that two men in white kurta-pyjama came out of the jawans’ barracks, with one holding an Insas rifle and other an axe. They fled into a forest close to the military station, and later, 19 empty shells and then the Insas missing since April 9 with a 28-round magazine were recovered.
