Barnala takes top spot in Punjab’s phase-I census
Barnala: Barnala municipal corporation has emerged as the frontrunner across Punjab in the first phase of Census 2027, successfully launching house listing activities in 100% of its designated blocks. The district has mobilised its field teams across all 172 house listing blocks (HLBs) within the municipal limits.At the broader district level, census operations have scaled rapidly. Out of the total 800 district HLBs, house listing work is already complete in 19 blocks, actively progressing in 780 blocks, and remains to be initiated in only one final block.The initial phase of the national census project commenced on May 15 and is scheduled to run through June 13. To manage the time-bound exercise, the district administration has deployed a workforce of more than 1,200 enumerators on the ground, managed by a tier of supervisors at a ratio of one supervisor for every six enumerators.To maintain momentum and ensure high data accuracy, the district administration has started honouring top-performing enumerators at the district level. Deputy commissioner Harpreet Singh said supervisors will also be felicitated in the coming days, adding that the administration is committed to maintaining its leading statewide rank until the conclusion of the mission.MSID:: 131292580 413 |
