Chandigarh: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal on Monday lashed out at Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann for power cuts and promised to make Punjab a surplus state again "once SAD forms the govt in 2027".Badal posted on X, "Shame on Bhagwant Mann govt for pushing Punjab into darkness amid scorching 40°C+ heat! People suffering for hours: no fans, no coolers, industries shut, farmers hit. This govt has not generated even a single extra unit of power! Fake promises & false advertisements won't serve Punjab."

He added, "During the Shiromani Akali Dal tenure, Punjab was made power-surplus and completely power cut-free. We built thermal plants, encouraged solar plants & gave 24x7 power supply. The Aam Aadmi Party destroyed it all."He further posted, "I assure the people of Punjab that once the Shiromani Akali Dal forms the govt in 2027, we will make Punjab a power-surplus state once again. We are fully committed to restoring the status and ensuring reliable, round-the-clock electricity for every household, shop, office, and industry."
