CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Assembly on Tuesday condemned the killing of more than 30 innocent people in the attack on Army camp in the outskirts of Jammu recently.

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Assembly on Tuesday condemned the killing of more than 30 innocent people in the attack on Army camp in the outskirts of Jammu recently.
The House, which met here for the first budget session of the newly constituted Assembly, also paid tributes to people who died in the interim period between the last and this session. The House resolved that the country should take appropriate measures to counter such attacks.
Those who were remembered included former Vice President B D Jatti, widow of former President Giani Zail Singh, Bibi Pradhan Kaur, former Union Minister Atma Nand Sharma, former minister Nusrat Ali Khan, former Punjab MLAs Om Prakash Bhardwaj, Abhey Singh Rao, freedom fighters Suraj Tanvir, Labh Singh and film producer Harpal Tiwana.

The Assembly also observed a two-minute silence as a mark of respect to these personalities.
