Assam govt contributes Rs 5 crore towards HP CM relief fund

Shimla: The Assam govt has contributed Rs 5 crore towards the Himachal Pradesh chief minister relief fund to help the disaster-affected families who suffered due to incessant rains during the ongoing monsoon season.Power, skill, employment, and entrepreneurship minister of Assam, Prasanta Phukan, on behalf of the state govt, presented a cheque of Rs 5 crore to chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Wednesday in Delhi.Besides this, senior manager legal and corporate affairs, Hindustan Unilever Limited, Rahul Bagga, also presented a cheque of Rs 50 lakh, while director, state transport, Baldev Thakur, presented Rs 1 lakh to the chief minister towards Aapada Rahat Kosh at New Delhi.Sukhu thanked this noble gesture and said it was a matter of great satisfaction that various state govts, philanthropists, organisations, and individuals were liberally coming forward for donations towards Aapada Rahat Kosh and the chief minister relief fund of the state, which go a long way in providing assistance to the affected families promptly.
