Arms seized from 2 arrested in Amritsar

AMRITSAR: The police here claimed to have averted a possible terrorist attack following the arrest of two henchmen of a US-based man. They also recovered arms and ammunition from the duo.
A spokesperson of the State Special Operation Cell on Sunday said Amritpal Singh alias Amrit Bal, who hailed from Kapurthala district and presently lived in the US, was trying to carry out targeted killings in Punjab with the help of Sandeep Singh and Avtar Singh.Bal has smuggled in a consignment of arms and ammunition into India, said the spokesperson, adding that based on intelligence inputs, Sandeep of Batala and Gurdaspur’s Avtar were arrested.
