A team of senior wildlife officials from Chandigarh has conducted a raid at a house in the Guru Nanak Dev locality here and seized two fully grown antlers.

HOSHIARPUR: A team of senior wildlife officials from Chandigarh late on Monday evening conducted a raid at a house in the Guru Nanak Dev locality here and seized two fully grown antlers.
On a tip-off, the team of four wildlife officials headed by Conservator (Wildlife) RK Mishra including director of Mahindra Chaudhary Zoological Park, Chattbir, Dharmindra Joshi and DFO (Wildlife), Mohali, Tushar Vahera raided the residence of MS Cheema, a businessman cum farm owner at about 7 pm on Monday and took possession of the antlers.

However, at the time of the raid, Cheema was away and he hasn���t been apprehended.
On Tuesday too, Hoshiarpur DFO (Wildlife) led a team accompanied by a dog squad to the farmhouse of the accused at Dallewal village of the district, falling in the vicinity of the Shivalik Hills.
However, no wildlife parts were recovered. Chief wildlife warden, Punjab, MP Rai, said: "Combing of places related to the offender and of the area will continue."
