Andhra team studies how UT works

Chandigarh: Chittoor mayor K Hemalatha and her deputy, Sri R Subramanyam, met her Chandigarh counterpart, Asha Jaswal, and additional municipal commissioner Saurav Mishra, along with a delegation of 34 municipal councillors from the town in Andhra Pradesh on Monday.

Jaswal welcomed the delegation in her office and gave it an introduction to projects and different functions of the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation. Mishra gave a presentation on solid-waste management in the city, while municipal chief engineer N P Sharma and superintending engineer (public health) Sanjay Arora also gave several presentations to the delegation, which also visited the garbage-dump in Dadumajra.
