The farmers alleged that they have not been given the full award of the land, trees, tubewells and houses, so this action of taking possession was illegal. For this, they have complained to the Dabwali police station incharge against the Sirsa district administration and the project team of the highway.

In the complaint to Dabwali police station, farmer Gajendra, Sudhir, both residents of village Chautala, Dayaram,

Rakesh Fagoria

, residents of Abubshahr village, Balkaran, Shivcharan, residents of Alikan village, Jaspreet, resident of Dabwali, alleged the Sirsa district administration and highway authority officials forcibly entered their fields to take possession of their land without following the law.

Farmers claimed they crushed standing crops of mustard and wheat. Therefore, legal action should be taken against the deputy commissioner (DC) of Sirsa, district revenue officer (DRO), tehsildar of Dabwali, officials of NHI, officials of URC Company and the local administration as they have not been given proper award of land, which includes houses, tubewells, underground pipelines, orchards are also included.

Farmer Dayaram said the land of about 200 farmers in Sattakhera and Shergarh villages has been acquired for this highway.

The land of Chautala village has also been acquired for this highway, in which many houses are also built and the possession has not been taken yet. Perhaps in the next few days, the administration will likewise take possession of Chautala village land, he said.

Asked about landowners not given adequate award, project manager Vipul Gupta said he is not allowed to talk to the media, so “you should talk to the DRO of Sirsa.”

Anish Yadav, deputy commissioner, Sirsa, said that without giving the price, the administration could not take possession. But at the same time, he said that the award is not due to any farmer. When asked about the award for tubewells, pipelines, trees, he said that the award for the structure wass yet to be given and none of the structures have been demolished yet.
