Ambedkar’s 125th birthday celebrated

Chandigarh: Chandigarh administration on Thursday celebrated the 125th birth anniversary of B R Ambedkar. A series of events at various locations across the city was organized. Besides political parties like BJP and Congress, other parties also organized the programs at different locations.
Youth and adults from villages and administration carried out a display van in various villages beginning from Khuda Ali Sher, Kaimbwala, Kishangarh, Daria, Mauli Jagran, Raipur Kala/Makhanmajra, Raipur Khurd, Behlana, Khuda Jassu, Khuda Lahora and Sarangpur showcasing slogans and quotes of Ambedkar.A short film on the life, contribution and achievements of Ambedkar was also organized for the people of Dhanas village.
Kriti Garg, SDM, South along with a team of officers from the rural development department visited the villages, wherein an oath ceremony was conducted and people were enlightened about Ambedkar's contribution towards the society.
