(41 not out off 35b; 4x4) helped Punjab eves to beat Karnataka by seven wickets in the ongoing Women's U-23 T20 trophy.
Punjab won the toss and opted to bat. They posted 129 for 5 in 20 overs. Amarpal Kaur was the top scorer for the batting team. Ridhima Aggarwal (29 off 34b; 4x4), Kanika Ahuja (21 off 15b; 3x4) and Pragati Singh (19 off 17b; 3x4) were the other notable contributors.
For Karnataka, Sahana Pawar (2/17) took two wickets, while Monica Patel (1/19) and Anagha Lakshmipathryrao (1/22) chipped in with a wicket apiece.
In reply, Karnataka could only muster 122 for 6 in 20 overs. Prathyoosha Kumar (55 off 56b; 4x6) was the top batswoman for her side. She was ably-supported by Aditi Rajesh (34 off 22b; 4x6). For Punjab, Manpreet Kaur (2/13), Komalpreet Kour (1/23), Palwinderjeet Kaur (1/14), Kanika Ahuja (1/28) and Mannat Kashyap (1/15) shared the spoils.
UT girls lose thriller Guntur: A valiant unbeaten 38 by Kashvee Gautam in the slog overs could not take Chandigarh over the line as they fell shy by five runs against Himachal Pradesh in a Women's Under-23 T20 match here on Wednesday. Electing to bat, Himachal labored to 114 for 7, with Tejinder Singh turning out to be the highest scorer with 37 runs. In reply, the Chandigarh openers Twinkle Pathak (1) and Muskan Singh (0) started on a forgettable note as both found short of crease by Preeti Kahlon. Captain Amanjot Kaur (36) and Shivangi Yadav (23) contributed a valuable partnership of 51 runs to bail the team out of trouble. Chitra Jamwal spell's sent Shivangi Yadav and Nandini Sharma (1) back to the pavilion. Towards the end, Kashvee came up with an unbeaten 38, laced with eight boundaries , but eventually were restricted to 109 for five in their 20 overs.
