PATIALA: Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, while talking to the media persons at Doodhan Sadhan near here before leaving for Pakistan on Friday, said that the he would hold talks with his counter part West Punjab Chief Minister Parvez Elahi to strengthen ties in the fields of trade, education and culture.
He said that he and his counter part could suggest and make efforts to pursue our governments to strengthen the ties in a better way because both the Punjab had same culture and language.
He said that bitterness merely a period of fifty years could not spoil the deep rooted relations of the people of both the countries nurtured over hundreds of years.
He said that good relations between both the countries would ultimately be helpful in developing peaceful environment in this region of the world.
The chief minister disclosed that a delegation of ten top industrialists was going to Pakistan with him and it would discuss the scope of business between both the countries.
Capt Amarinder Singh said that he would also discuss the scope of Gas pipe line for the thr0ermal projects of Punjab.
The chief minister disclosed that in his absence, deputy chief minister Rajinder Kaur Bhathal would officiate as chief minister.
Replying to a question regarding any transfer of Secretary Rural Development and Director Panchayats as the concerned minister had expressed dissatisfaction over their functioning, the chief minister said that yet there was no such proposal.
Replying an other question regarding the appointment of Panchayat Secretaries, he said that positive decision in this regard would be taken very soon.
