Jalandhar: The removal of
Alok Sharma from the post of All India Congress Committee secretary, attached to party general secretary in-charge of Punjab,
Bhupesh Baghel, surprised many. It is learnt that his removal is linked to a complaint from Punjab.
Sharma is known for his sharp articulations in TV media discussions, especially against RSS and BJP, and has been strongly defending his party's decisions. He is retained as a media panelist.
Sources in Congress revealed that his work was rattling a few senior leaders, and they complained to the top bosses against him, seeking his removal. The announcement of his removal from the post coincided with the conclusion of AICC in Ahmedabad. This came as a big surprise for many outside Congress, especially in the secular-liberal sections.
