Kaur of Kotla Mehar Wala village asked them to wait outside and talk to the doctor to clear all formalities. At this, Parmajit and his son lost their temper and allegedly slapped Ramandeep.

“I only had asked them to wait outside as they (Paramjit and his son) were sitting on seats meant for staff.They could not tolerate it and repeatedly slapped me and pushed me to ground. They also abused me despite my requests not to behave like this due to my condition,“ said Ramandeep, who is eight weeks pregnant.

Congress leader and former minister Darshan Singh Brar soon reached the hospital and announced organize protests if strict action was not taken against the guilty . Moga SSP Snehdeep Sharma confirmed the incident. He said, “A case under sections 451(trespass in order to commit offence), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC has been registered against the accused.“

When contacted, Paramjit said, “The nurse talked in insulting way , misbehaved with us and taunted that you people do not know where to sit and how to talk with hospital staff.“

He refused to talk further.
