Harpreet was attacked on December 7 at a Ludhiana beauty parlour when she had gone for bridal make up before her marriage. After battling for life for 20 days, Harpreet breathed her last at a Mumbai hospital on December 27.

BARNALA: Rajya Sabha member Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa handed over cheque of Rs 5 lakh and Ludhiana police commissioner Nimral Singh Dhillon separately handed over cheque of Rs 5 lakh to the family of the woman who was killed following an acid attack.

After battling for life for 20 days, Harpreet breathed her last at a Mumbai hospital on December 27.
During police investigation it was found that a woman related to Harpreet's 'would be husband' had hired some men to throw acid on her.
Dhindsa also assured a job to Harpreet’s brother. SAD(Longowal) president Surjit Kaur Barnala and a score of persons paid tributes to Harpreet during her memorial service. People also demanded action against Harpreet’s in-laws.
