Abhay Chautala, Deepender Hooda join Jayant Chaudhary's Muzaffarnagar mahapanchayat

CHANDIGARH: Some of the prominent leaders from Haryana including Abhay Singh Chautala and Deepender Singh Hooda also joined '

loktantar bachao mahapanchayat

' organized on Thursday in Muzaffarnagar to protest against the lathi-charge on Rashtriya Lok Dal's (RLD) leader Jayant Chaudhary for demanding justice for the family victimized in the Hathras case.

Addressing the gathering, Deepender Singh Hooda,

Rajya Sabha MP

and senior congress leader, appealed to the farmers to organize by rising above the caste or community line. "If the farmers do not organize, they will be beaten up on roads and their crops would be beaten up in Mandis. The BJP government has started doing both these things. They are beating farmers on the road and their crops in Mandis through the newly introduced farm laws," said Deepender.

Hooda also said that the BJP government wants to suppress all those voices that are raised for poor, farmers and labour and attack on Jayant Chaudhary, who was going to meet the Hatharas victim's family, is an example.

Hooda also read out a message on behalf of Senior Congress leader, Priyanka Gandhi before the Mahapanchayat.

INLD's Secretary General and Ellenabad MLA, Abhay Chautala said that instead of doing justice for the victim of Hathras incident, the Uttar Pradesh government has been making efforts to save the perpetrators. He said that Jayant Chaudhary is not only Ajit Singh's son but also the grandson of

Chaudhary Charan Singh

who were farmers' messiah. Uttar Pradesh Police did not Lathicharged on Jayant Chaudhary, but it is on every farmer who is related to the farming community, which is feeding the people of this country.

The INLD leader appealed to all the political parties present on the stage that the time has come again to rise above politics and mobilize against the oppressive policies of the BJP for the farmers' rights.
