Chandigarh: The UT powermen union on Tuesday got the support of various associations and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) councillors, who joined their protest in Sector 17. The union members are protesting against power privatisation. They have announced that power department employees, under the banner of UT powermen union, will observe a 72-hour strike from February 22 to February 24.
The Union cabinet approved the highest bidder on January 6. Chandigarh administration plans to hand over the department to the private company on March 24.
