64-yr-old woman held in fraud case

Panchkula: Police arrested a 64-year-old Mumbai woman for duping a Pinjore-based family of Rs 36.92 lakh on the pretext of providing them a work visa in Canada. A local court has sent the accused, Surjit Singh Banga, to two-day police remand. On March 29, Baljeet Singh of Ghamala, Pinjore, had lodged a complaint, alleging that they had given Banga Rs 36.92 lakh to get a work permit of Canada for himself and his family in 2018. tnn
