ROHTAK (Haryana): At least 40 temporary teachers were injured on Sunday when they tried to proceed to the residence of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, demanding regularisation of services, as police lobbed teargas shells and cane charged the protesters. After a rally organised here, the teachers, including women, proceeded to the CM's residence to handover a memorandum.
Deputy Commissioner R S Doon and Superintendent of Police Alok Mittal persuaded them from proceeding and demanded that the memorandum be handed over to them. Once they refused to relent and tried to force their way, police caned them, lobbed tear gas shells and used water canon outside the Sir Chhotu Ram Stadium.
