CHANDIGARH: As many as 33 candidates interested in contesting Punjab assembly polls withdrew their nomination

papers

on Thursday.

The last day to withdraw the

nomination

papers is Friday. Punjab chief electoral

officer

Karuna Raju

said in all, 588 nominations were rejected during scrutiny.
