32-yr-old man allegedly commits suicide over extra-marital affair

LUDHIANA: A 32-year-old married man committed

suicide

by hanging himself with a ceiling fan at his house in

Puneet Nagar

at Tibba road on Friday evening. The police have also recovered a suicide note in which the deceased Deepak Parashar accused his relatives of practising witchcraft on him. Following the suicide note and a complaint filed by his kin, the Jodhewal Police have registered a case under section 306 (abetment to suicide) of IPC against the three accused.

In his compliant to police, Kuldeep Sharma (Deepak’s brother-in-law) stated that Deepak got married to Anushka Sharma of Fatehgarh Sahib nine years ago. However, he had allegedly developed an illicit relation with Nitika which Anushka was aware of. As a result the married couple developed strains in their marital life after which Anushka left his house and went to her parents’ home in Fatehgarh Sahib.

Kuldeep further alleged that Deepak complained Nitika and her family were trying to disturb his married life. ASI Kapil Kumar, incharge at Tibba road said that Deepak had mentioned in the suicide note that Nitika along with her mother and maternal uncle were practising witchcraft on him. Police have registered a case on the basis of the suicide note.
