HOSHIARPUR: Three youths were killed in a clash between two groups in Moranwali village of Garhshankar subdivision Saturday afternoon.
All the three died of injuries caused by sharp-edged weapons. They succumbed to their injuries before reaching the hospital.
Hoshiarpur SSP Satendra Lamba said the rival groups were led by Manpreet Singh Mani and Gurpreet Singh Gopi, residents of Moranwali village. They had been nursing a grudge over a small issue.
"Fifteen days ago, a small scuffle had taken place between the two. On Saturday, they again confronted each other. Gopi, who runs a de-addiction centre in the village, called some persons from the centre, who were armed with sharp-edged weapons. They attacked the other side, injuring Manpreet, Sukhpiyar Singh and Saranpreet Singh.
Five suspects have been detained, said the police.
