Mohali: Police on Monday registered a case against a dozen people after they allegedly attacked three men and vandalised a car on Zirakpur-Patiala road Sunday. Four of the accused are Gurvinder Singh of Faridkot, Gurpreet Singh and Ashok Kumar, both residents of Ferozepur, and Bunty of Moga along with eight to nine unidentified persons. Prince Kalra, a resident of Rajpura and an employee at a hospital in Patiala, said he and his friends Gaurav Verma, Pramod Verma and Bhaskar Verma were going to PGI, Chandigarh, to visit the ailing father of a friend.

He said when he reached Zirakpur-Patiala Road, occupants of a car signalled him to stop, but he drove on. The car started chasing him. Two more joined the chase. At Zirakpur-Chandigarh flyover, one of the three cars hit his vehicle. As he stopped, 12 to 13 men armed with weapons came out of the three cars and allegedly attacked him and his friends. They allegedly broke the windows of his vehicle and snatched his gold chain, and wallet containing Rs 17,000 and some important documents and his mobile phone.
