28 IPS, 19 PPS officers shifted

CHANDIGARH: In a major shake-up in the run up to the Lok Sabha elections, the Punjab government transferred 28 IPS and 19 PPS officers.

CHANDIGARH: In a major shake-up in the run up to the Lok Sabha elections, the Punjab government transferred 28 IPS and 19 PPS officers.
While IGs in all three zones in the state have been shifted, only DIGs in Amritsar, Jalandhar and Ludhiana ranges have been moved.
SK Sharma, IG, Border Range, would be new IG, Jalandhar range, replacing JP Birdi who takes over as IG, Border range.

Rajinder Singh would take over as new IG, Patiala range, replacing Shashi Kant, who has been promoted and posted as additional director general, Operations.
Dinkar Gupta, DIG, Jalandhar, goes to Ludhiana. He would be replaced by RP Meena. PS Gill would take over as new DIG, Border range, replacing GS Sahota who becomes DIG, Intelligence.
SS Saini, IG, Operations, would occupy the newly-created post to head the economic offences and special operations.
Suresh Arora, IG, would be the new director of the Vigilance Bureau replacing SM Sharma, who would take over as IG, Provisioning and modernisation.

The other officers with their new postings are: P Lal, ADGP, Home Guards, Chander Shekhar, ADPG, Internal Vigilance, Mohammad Mustafa, IG, Operations-I, Jyoti Trehan, IG, Operations-II, Rajan Gupta, IG, PAP, Jalandhar, GD Pandey, IG, Training and Traffic, HS Dhillon, IG, Litigation, Narinder Sharma, IG, Crime, Jasminder Singh, and S Chattopadhyaya, both on promotion become IG, Computers and Commando, respectively.
Rohit Chaudhary, DIG, Economic offences, RC Singh, DIG , Administration, JK Mittal, DIG, Intelligence-II, KS Pannu, DIG, PAP, NS Dhillon, DIG, Vigilance Bureau.
PK Sinha, AIG, Modernisation, would take over as OSD to the director general of Punjab police, and Tajinder Pal Singh, commandant, PAP, Amritsar.
