20-year-old Punjab student working as security guard shot dead in Canada

BATHINDA: A 20-year-old student from Punjab was shot dead in an apartment in Edmonton, Canada, on Friday.

Canadian police have named the two accused as Evan Rain and Judith Saulteaux, both 30 years old. Both have been arrested and charged with first-degree murder.


The victim, identified as Harshandeep Singh, was also working as a security guard was found dead following a shootout at around 12.30 am on Friday in the staircase of an apartment building.

The police arrived at the apartment building after receiving reports of gunshots, where the Indian student was found unresponsive inside.

The motive for the shootout is still unknown.
