2 suppliers arrested with 105g heroin

Chandigarh: The UT police arrested two men with heroin on Friday. Police claimed to have seized 105g heroin from Davinder Singh (28), a resident of Sangrur, and Gurcharan Singh alias Guri (28), a resident of Sector 56. A team of the operation cell were checking commuters in Manimajra when Davinder Singh tried to flee the spot. But, cops nabbed him and recovered 85g heroin from him. The accused revealed that he used to supply drugs in the Tricity. Another team of the crime branch arrested Gurcharan Singh from Sector 39 with 20g heroin.Member of Thak Thak gang arrestedUT police arrested a member of Thak Thak gang for allegedly stealing Rs 1.75 lakh in cash from a car driver at a parking area in Sector 8. In his complaint, Bhag Singh of Panchkula claimed that the crime occured when he had gone to a bank to deposit cash.

J&K ANTF arrests man with 3.5 kg heroin from Srinagar

The Jammu & Kashmir Anti-Narcotics Task Force (J&K ANTF) arrested a man in Srinagar with 3.5 kg of heroin worth crores. The contraband is considered a commercial quantity and has resulted in 15 FIRs being registered by the ANTF in 2023. The senior superintendent of police (SSP) appealed to the public and youth to refrain from drugs and report any information on smugglers and peddlers to the ANTF. The identity of informers will be kept confidential.

Drug supplier held in Delhi with heroin worth Rs 1.5 cr

A 31-year-old man was arrested in New Delhi with heroin worth over Rs 1.5 crore. The accused had been involved in drug peddling for the last one-and-a-half years and had come to Delhi to deliver the contraband. He was caught with 1.541 kilograms of heroin and an SUV car. The arrest was made following a tip-off received by the police.

Taxi driver, meat shop owner held with heroin

A taxi driver and a meat shop owner have been arrested in Chandigarh after police recovered 34 grams of heroin from them. The two suspects, residents of Tarn Taran in Punjab, were spotted carrying bags by a patrolling police team. When they noticed the police, they attempted to flee but were apprehended. The police recovered 22.08 grams of heroin from one suspect and 12.44 grams from the other. The suspects allegedly obtained the drugs from Amritsar and Tarn Taran for sale in the Tricity area.
