KULLU: Two paragliding pilots, who crashed after taking off from Bir Billing in the remote mountain area of Baijnath sub-division of Kangra district, were heli-rescued on Sunday.
Arun Singh from Rajasthan sustained serious injuries, while Ranjan Gupta was left stranded after getting stuck in a tree in the remote Guran Dhar area of Baijnath.
Both were airlifted to safety in a coordinated operation involving the police, local rescue teams and the Indian Air Force, said Kangra deputy commissioner Hemraj Bairwa.

Bairwa said the accident occurred in inaccessible terrain with no road connectivity, prompting authorities to seek immediate IAF assistance.
He added that the terrain was so rugged that reaching the site on foot could have taken hours, making aerial rescue the only viable option.
Both the paragliders have been admitted to a hospital in Palampur, where treatment is ongoing.
