2 kids being exploited for labour rescued

Panchkula: Child Welfare Committee (CWC) team of Panchkula rescued two children involved in forced child labor from two shops in Kalka. The accused were booked under the Child Labour Prohibition Regulation Act. CWC chairperson Mamta Goyal said that the district task force (DTF) team received a complaint letter about a case of child labour in Kalka. A team of the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) and DTF members conducted surprise inspection at several shops in Kalka. They found that a shoe shop, Super Shoes Shop owned by Gaurav Ghai was taking work from 13-year-old Raju Kumar on payment of Rs 6,000. They rescued him and sent him to the Child Care Institute.  The raiding team also found a 13-year-old child, identified as Rohit, working at Nathu Ram Jyoti Prasad Bartan Shop in Kalka. Shop owner Gaurav Bhalla paid him Rs 5,000 per month. tnn
