CHANDIGARH: Three students from the city have propelled themselves as the country's second and third toppers in the CBSE Class XII examinations, thrilling Chandigarh and landing it on the national platform with a bang.
The results declared on Sunday saw Bhoomi Sawant of DAV Public School, Sector 8, scoring all-India rank 2 in all streams with 99.4% marks.

She scored first position in non-medical.
Mannat Luthra and Aditya Jain, both from Bhavan Vidyalaya School, Sector 27, tied for the third rank. They scored 99.2% marks. Both topped in commerce. Aditya scored 100 in economics and business studies, while Mannat got 100 in accountancy and mathematics. Bhoomi scored 100 in physics, chemistry, mathematics and computer science and 97 in English. “I was expecting above 95%, but 99.4% has come as a surprise. I am thankful to my teachers and principals. I used to feel low when I used to score less marks, but my teachers motivated and guided me. They told me to be confident and give my best and here I am,“ says Bhoomi, who wants to become a computer engineer. She did face some problems initially. “When I started studying science, I faced a little bit of difficulty . But with the help of my teachers, things got better. I solved a lot of sample papers before exams.“ “Focus on your goal, and give your best without thinking about the result,“ she suggests.
For Aditya, Prime Minister Nar endra Modi is his inspiration.He wishes to become an economist and pursue civil services. “One should not just focus on studies but stay relaxed. I am against the ideology that to score well you have to study for 10-15 hours in a day,“ he says. Mannat, who even received a call from HRD minister Prakash Ja vadekar on her success, is look ing forward to take admis sion in Delhi U n ive r s i t y and prepare for civil services. Two more students, Sanat Goel of Bhavan Vidyalaya School, Sector 27, and Mehar Virk of Car mel Convent School, Sector 9, featured in the top 10 list of the country by scoring 99%. Unable to believe his result, Sanat rechecked it. “Topping with 99% is a dream come true.“ Sanat wants to become chartered accountant and pursue BCom from Shri Ram College of Commerce, New Delhi. Mehar too felt her result was beyond her expectation. Aiming to become an architect, she believes consistent hard work and regular day-to-day studies helped her score well.
