2 brothers among 3 killed as car crashes into divider in Abohar
Abohar: Three youths, including two brothers, were killed and two others were injured when a speeding car reportedly lost control and hit a divider in Abohar on Sunday night.The deceased have been identified as 24-year-old Uday (24), 22-year-old Vishal and 22-year-old Raman (22). Uday and Vishal were brothers. Their loss has devastated the entire family. Uday was married and had two children, while Raman was their maternal uncle's son.
The injured have been identified as Roshan and Anmol. They were all residents of Baluana village near Abohar. It has been reported that these young men used to take contracts for plucking kinnows in orchards and were returning home after finalising a business deal.Family members of the accident victims arrived at the hospital after receiving a call around 1.30am. The caller informed them that their sons were in an accident and had been taken to the civil hospital in Abohar. When they arrived at the hospital, three of the young men had already died while the two injured were given first aid and referred to Faridkot Medical College.A passer-by, who took the injured to the hospital, stated that the accident occurred around 1.15am on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday. According to him, the victims' car was coming from Hanumangarh Road and descended the bridge towards Roti Chowk.An eye witness reported that the car was speeding while descending the bridge and as a result, the driver lost control and the car collided with the intersection. The impact was so severe that the front portion of the car was totally crushed, and the intersection was also broken.The eyewitnesses reported that two young men in the car died on the spot, while three others lay inside, groaning. They were taken out of the car and taken to the Abohar civil hospital. Their families were informed through the phone numbers found in their phones. They also informed the police.Abohar City-1 station house officer (SHO) Ravinder Singh said the bodies had been sent for post-mortem examination and would be handed over to their families later. The injured were referred to Faridkot after receiving first aid, where they are currently undergoing treatment.
