2 arrested for taking 1.5L in lieu of dropping rape case against Hry artist

Hisar: Hansi police have arrested two persons, including a BJP youth leader, for allegedly taking Rs 1.50 lakh in lieu of dropping a rape case against Haryanvi artist Naveen Naru.The arrested accused have been identified as Nehru Dutt alias Kapil and Satpal alias Bittu, both residents of Subhash Nagar, Hansi. The accused were produced in a court which has sent them into judicial custody. It is alleged that a demand of Rs 20 lakh was made by the woman’s side and the matter was settled for Rs 15 lakh. Nehru Dutt was holding the post of Hansi Mandal president in the BJP’s youth cell. However, district BJP president Asha Rani Khedar said the accused had no connection with the party and she did not know him. A photo of the accused with former finance minister Captain Abhimanyu went viral on social media on Wednesday.Hansi police said recently, a woman had lodged an FIR against Haryanvi artist Naveen alias Naru at Hansi women police station on charges of rape.In lieu of compromise in this FIR, the woman’s side had demanded Rs 20 lakh. The deal was finally agreed for Rs 15 lakh, said the police.On behalf of Naveen, Jaipal Jaili, a resident of Kharaundhi village of Jind, informed the police that the two were coming to a location near the subdivision complex to collect money for settling the case. Hansi police then formed a team and arrested the accused while taking Rs 1.50 lakh, the police added.Earlier, a woman living in Hansi city area had filed a rape case against Naveen, who along with Sapna Choudhary has given many hit songs. In her complaint to the police, the woman had claimed that she had come in contact with Naveen Naru three years ago. One day, Naveen made me unconscious by feeding me some intoxicating substance and raped me, she told the police. During this time, an obscene video of her was also made, she alleged, adding that later, Naveen blackmailed her by threatening to make the video viral. She claimed that Naveen had been raping her repeatedly for last three years.
