, an 11-year-old girl from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, became a beacon of hope for many organ failure patients due to her parents’ decision to donate her organs. Two kidneys and two corneas were transplanted to matching recipients in PGIMER. On March 3,

met with an accident which let her with a grievous head injury. Eventually, she succumbed to her injuries. Doctors at
PGIMER
declared her brain dead on March 7.
“It was a tough call to say yes to organ donation. But the only thought that enabled us to go ahead with this decision was that Nayna had been such a kind hearted and giving child. Saving others’ lives through organ donation seemed an apt way of bidding adieu to this mortal world,” said Jagdish Chand
