CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi (PLKA) on Friday honoured 11 artists for their contribution in the field of visual arts. Internationally acclaimed artist Atul Dodiya from Mumbai conferred the honours.
Named as Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi Sanmaan are the highest honours that the akademi confers for the creativity, , freshness of thought, reflection on the social concerns and skilful rendering of their ideas in visual vocabulary with a contemporary take.
These artists have been at the forefront in pushing the boundaries in their respective fields and staying ahead of the times. Out of 11 artists, 10 of them are visual artists and one is an art critic and cultural correspondent . One honour was given to late Malkit Singh, posthumously.
