Union Club gets new president

Cuttack: Senior advocate Bijay Kumar Sahoo was elected as the new president of the Union Club, one of Odisha's oldest and most prestigious social institutions, during an election held on Monday. The election coincided with the birth anniversary of Utkal Gourav Madhusudan Das, the club's founder. Sahoo, a prominent practitioner at the Orissa high court for over three decades, secured 308 votes to defeat his rival candidate, Ranjan Kumar Nanda, who received 276 votes. TNN
