Two Bengal tourists drown in Puri sea

Two tourists from West Bengal drowned in the Puri sea while bathing on Saturday.

Bhubaneswar: Two tourists from West Bengal drowned in the Puri sea while bathing on Saturday. While one accident took place near the lighthouse under Baliapanda police limits around 1 pm, the second drowning ocurred near Swargadwar under Sea Beach police limits around 3.30 pm, police said.
The first victim was identified as Sudipto Roy from Thakurpukur Road of Barasat under North 24 Paraganas.

"He had come with his friends' family members to Puri for a holiday. They were staying in their relatives house near the beach," said IIC of Baliapanda police station Biswaranjan Senapati.
The second victim was identified as Biswajit Bhattacharjee, 30, of Kolkata.
He was a teacher by profession. He was swept away by strong current while bathing with his family members, said IIC Pravat Kumar Mallick. He was taken to the hospital, where he was declared brought dead, police said .
