Bhubaneswar: Laxmisagar police here on Thursday arrested two men, including a retired army personnel, for allegedly opening fire at two other men following a
road rage incident on Cuttack Road on Wednesday night. The accused were identified as Dibakar Kalas and
Raja Sahoo.
Sikhar Jena, who is the elder brother of a local corporator, and his nephew Alok Jena sustained bullet injuries on their legs after being allegedly fired upon by Kalas (an ex-army jawan) and Sahoo.
Kalas was travelling with one Pravat Martha of Laxmisagar when their car came in front of another car, which was being driven by Alok.
“Both refused to give way to the other’s car, leading to an altercation. Their supporters soon gathered at the spot. Martha, Kalas and their supporters opened fire at their rivals. Martha is on the run,” a police officer said. “We also registered a counter case against Sikhar, Alok and two others on the basis of a complaint by Martha’s wife, who allegedly that the accused persons attacked her and her husband. She was present in the car,” the police officer said.
