Tight security planned for Ram Navami in Jeypore

Koraput: Koraput district police have made elaborate security arrangements for the upcoming Ram Navami celebrations in Jeypore, where a massive religious procession is expected to draw a large number of people. The procession will start from Power House Square and proceed to Dussehra Ground, covering key areas of the town.SP (Koraput) Rohit Verma said 13 platoons of police force will be deployed across Jeypore to ensure smooth passage of the procession and maintain law and order. "Sensitive areas have been identified and adequate police personnel will be stationed in these areas to prevent any untoward incidents," the SP said. "Keeping in view the significant participation of women in the procession, adequate deployment of women police personnel has also been planned to ensure safety and convenience," he added. Police along with BSF personnel conducted a flag march along a nearly 3km stretch from Power House Square to Town police station on Tuesday evening "We urge people to cooperate with the administration and celebrate the festival in a peaceful and harmonious manner," the SP said.
