Teens among 5 held, bike-lifting gang busted in Berhampur

Berhampur: Police on Friday busted a bike-lifting and mobile phone snatchers’ gang with the arrest of its five members, including two teenagers and a security guard. As many as 14 motorbikes and 57 mobile phones, which were snatched from the people under Baidyanathpur police station limits in the city in the last six months.
Apart from the two minors, the three other accused persons have been identified as L Siva Reddy (26) of Gokarnapur near Digapahandi, Upendra Nayak (26) of Aliabad near Hinjili, and Srikant Padhy (30) of Ambika Nagar.While Siva Reddy was the gang leader, Srikant was working as a security guard in MKCG Medical College and Hospital here, the police said
Earlier, Siva Reddy was arrested by the Berhampur police twice for allegedly lifting motorbikes from the same market areas.
