Teacher killed by ‘mentally ill’ son

Kendrapada: A 57-year-old woman was killed by her son in Bhutamundai village under Paradip Lock police station in Jagatsinghpur district on Tuesday morning. Police said that the accused, Ansuman Behera (24), is suffering from a mental illness and was under medication. He attacked his mother with a billhook while she was combing her hair. She died on the spot.The deceased was identified as Sulochana Dei. She worked as a teacher in Srimaa Government High School in Paradip Garh. Police have seized the body and sent it to the local government hospital for autopsy. The billhook has also been seized . “Accused has been booked under Section 302 of the IPC,” said N C Sethi, the additional SP of Paradip. tnn
