Now trains are not stopping at this station since the resumption of train services on the mainline between Bhadrak and Kharagpur after the train crash that killed 293 people. This was done as part of the investigation into the accident.

Official sources said the railways will cancel 43 trains passing through Bahanaga Bazar station on Saturday and Sunday for signalling work.

Aditya Kumar Chaudhary, chief public relations officer, SER, said the Bahanaga Bazar station will be functional again after the signalling work is over. "Now we are running one train in a 20km section. After the completion of signalling work, we can run two trains with 10km each section. In this way, we can avoid congestion," he added.

Sources said trains are running at a restricted speed while crossing the accident site.
