Bhubaneswar: Digitization of applications submitted to the Justice M M Das Commission of Inquiry probing chit fund scam is yet to be complete, finance minister Pradip Amat told the assembly on Tuesday. The finance minister said 8.96 lakh people had filed applications with the commission. The ongoing session of the assembly has been witnessing din over opposition demand to sack Justice Das for his alleged anti-investor statement. Amat said additional district magistrates and competent authorities will soon receive online applications and identify the actual investors, who would be refunded following auction of properties of the chit fund companies. The minister said 1,027 investors had got their money back from a chit fund company after they were identified by the commission. The government has not paid money to any investor, he said.
