Plus II exams: Full security & transparency measures for AHSE
Bhubaneswar: State govt has put in place elaborate administrative and security arrangements to ensure smooth and transparent conduct of the Annual Higher Secondary Examination (AHSE), scheduled from Feb 18 to March 28.
The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) said on Sunday that 4,01,632 students will appear for the examinations from 1,357 centres functioning under 1,909 higher secondary schools. A total of 211 examination management hubs, where question papers will be stored, will remain under AI-enabled camera surveillance. The exams will be conducted in 23 sittings.
Chief secretary Anu Garg reviewed preparedness for AHSE on Saturday and directed officials to ensure round-the-clock security at the hubs and examination centres. Adequate police deployment has been ordered, along with armed escorts for the safe transportation of question papers and answer scripts.
Controller of examinations Prasanta Kumar Parida said stringent measures have been put in place to prevent malpractice. Mobile phones and all electronic devices have been completely banned inside exam centres for students and officials. “Everyone involved in the examination process will be required to deposit their mobile phones with the centre superintendent or keep them in their vehicles before entering the school premises. Centre superintendents will maintain a date-wise record of deposited mobile phones,” Parida said.
Two-stage frisking and identity verification of examinees will be conducted, with special arrangements made to ensure the privacy and safety of girls.
As per the examination protocol, question paper packets will reach centres by 8:30 am on examination days and will be opened at 9:30 am in the presence of multiple officials, including representatives of the district administration. Surplus question papers will be sealed immediately after distribution to prevent any leakage.
Students will be allowed to enter the examination hall 30 minutes before the start of the exam and must be in their allotted seats at least 15 minutes in advance, officials said.
