BERHAMPUR: Several people of
Dhadi Ambagaon
village in Tumba panchayat under Patrapur block in Ganjam district detained the block development officer (
BDO
) for several hours on Wednesday holding him responsible for their names missing from the voter list and demanding re-polling.
Around 100 voters of the village could not cast their vote in the third phase of the panchayat polls on Sunday as their names were missing from the voter list. They had also detained polling officials along with the ballot box for over five hours after voting, demanding re-polling and voter cards.
On Wednesday, the villagers detained Patrapur BDO
Prakash Chandra Das
while he was returning after inspecting school transformation work at Tumba.
They released the BDO after discussion, said
