BHUBANESWAR: A 500-bed trauma center will be established at Cuttack's SCB medical college and hospital, Cuttack. This will enable immediate advanced treatment for various accident victims. Chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi approved this proposal on Monday.
This trauma centre will be implemented under the Centre’s ‘Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana.’ For this, the Centre will invest 60 percent of the funds, while the state will contribute 40 percent.
On July 2 last year, Majhi had written a letter to Union health minister JP Nadda urging him to establish this trauma centre at SCB.
After getting policy approval from the Centre, Odisha govt gave approval. Following this, a detailed project report will be prepared, and steps will be taken for the project's establishment, said the chief minister’s office in a statement.
